  1. How do I get started?

    Fundraise My Way is designed so that you can raise funds for St. Michael’s in the way that is most meaningful to you. Click here for ideas and inspiration.

    Create an individual fundraising page to share why St. Michael’s Hospital is important to you, or how St. Michael’s has helped you, your family, a friend or a colleague.

    Remember, when people know why you are fundraising, they are more likely to support you!

    Start your fundraiser today by completing a short registration form and personalizing your fundraising page with your story and photo. Once you register, you will be able to access sample emails in the Participant Centre to start emailing family, friends and colleagues to support your fundraiser.

    You can also create a team fundraising page and recruit family, friends and colleagues to fundraise with you.

  2. What is a team fundraising page?

    By starting a team fundraiser, you become a Team Captain and you can invite family, friends and colleagues to fundraise with you. Once you complete your registration, you can share the team fundraising page and invite family, friends and colleagues to create their own fundraising page under the team page. They will have access to sample emails and fundraising ideas in the Participant Centre to begin fundraising towards the team goal!

    If you have registered as Team Captain, make sure you check in with your team and encourage them to fundraise by reaching out to their family and friends. A fun team name and friendly competition can help you successfully meet your team goal!

  3. Do I need to customize my fundraising page?

    Your fundraising page has been pre-loaded with a default image and text. Customized pages always have greater impact. Make your page extra special by uploading a photo and writing a personal message about your experience at St. Michael’s and why you are committed to raising funds for the Hospital.

  4. How do my fundraising efforts help St. Michael’s Hospital?

  5. Can I fundraise for a specific area at St. Michael’s Hospital?

    Yes, in most cases you can direct donations raised through your fundraiser to a specific area at St. Michael’s Hospital. Please email us before you begin your fundraiser, fundraise@stmichaelsfoundation.com.

  6. Can funds raised through my fundraiser be used to pay for event expenses?

    No. Once funds are received through the Fundraise My Way page, they are considered donations to St. Michael’s Hospital and may not be used to pay expenses.

  7. What do I do with cash and check donations?

    If you receive a cash or check donation, you can enter these ‘offline’ donations in your Participant Centre (look for the “Enter Offline Gift” button). You will also need to fill out the Offline Donation form and mail it to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation.

    Please include donation checks, but if you receive cash donations, we request that you deposit the money and either make out a check or send a money order for that same amount to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. Once we receive all necessary information, a tax receipt can be issued to donor(s). Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 and above and in accordance with CRA guidelines.

  8. How are tax receipts issued?

    Tax receipts are issued automatically for online donations of $20 or more. For offline donations please follow the process above.

  9. Can a tax receipt be issued for in-kind donations?

    Some in-kind donations are eligible for tax receipts. We request you contact St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation to confirm whether an in-kind donation to your fundraiser is eligible for a tax receipt. Please contact: fundraise@stmichaelsfoundation.com or call 416-864-5000.

  10. Can I use St. Michael’s logo for fundraising posters and other material related to my fundraiser?

    Yes. Email us at fundraise@stmichaelsfoundation.com with your request. Please include the material you’d like to use the logo on.

  11. What is Corporate Matching?

    Many Canadian companies offer corporate matching donation programs; companies will match donations raised by their employees. Double your fundraising success by checking with your HR or CSR team about corporate matching programs.
