The 12th annual McGee-Clark Fundraiser will take place on Thursday, October 9 at the Pat Quinn Lounge at P.J. O’Brien's Irish Pub. Join “the boys” for a night of entertainment, delicious food and most of all, great company.
Your name will be put on the guest list with a donation of $20 or more. Doors open at 5 p.m. Should you wish to pay at the door the cost is $20.
To date the event has raised over $172,000 net for the Cancer Compassionate Care Fund at St. Michael’s Hospital.
The McGee-Clark Committee recently pledged $100,000 to support one of the 16 all-private rooms on the new Oncology Inpatient Unit. The unit will occupy the 8th floor of the new patient care tower, to be built at the corner of Queen and Victoria Streets. The tower is the centrepiece of St. Michael's 3.0, a series of capital projects that will transform care at St. Michael's for the 21st century.
Through this commitment, and together with your continued support for the McGee-Clark Fundraiser, the funds will be used to build a state-of-the-art facility that focuses on patient care and comfort. The 300 square-foot room will include a private washroom, a large exterior window to provide an abundance of natural light, an integrated bedside terminal to adjust light and temperature as well as select entertainment, and a dedicated family zone that allows families to support their loved ones, including a couch that folds out into a bed to stay overnight.
Sean, Clark, Nitin and Chris feel that this initiative fits well with the mission of the McGee-Clark Fundraiser, which focuses on patient care, and they look forward to making an even bigger impact to the care of cancer patients at St. Michael’s.
